For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Clients:

Who are your services for?

L
K

Our service is for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people, adults, and families seeking culturally safe mental health and wellbeing support. We provide psychological therapy and assessments with a deep understanding of culture, community, trauma, and healing.

Do I need a referral from a doctor?

L
K

No, you don’t need a referral to get in touch. You can self-refer by filling out our referral form or giving us a call.

Can I choose to see an Aboriginal psychologist?

L
K

Yes. Our team includes Aboriginal psychologists and mental health professionals. If this is important to you or your family, you can let us know and we will do our best to match you with the right person.

What kind of support do you offer?

L
K

We offer individual therapy, group programs, assessments, and family-focused support. We work with issues like grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation, and cultural identity.  It is important that therapy and culture walk hand in hand.

Is your service private and confidential?

L
K

Yes. What you share with us stays private, unless we are worried about someone’s safety. We always talk to you first if something needs to be shared.

I’ve had bad experiences with mental health services before — how is this different?

L
K

We understand that many of our mob have felt judged, silenced, or not listened to. Our approach is grounded in cultural respect, truth-telling, and relationship-building. You don’t have to explain your culture — we see you, we hear you, and we work with you at your pace.

How much do sessions cost?

L
K

Our fees vary depending on your circumstances. Options available may include a Mental Health Care Plan through your GP or NDIS if your eligible. We can talk with you about available options. If you’re worried about cost, please let us know, we’ll do our best to find an option that works best for you.

How do I make an appointment?

L
K

You can fill out our referral form on the website or give us a call. If you’re not sure where to start, get in touch — we’re happy to yarn about your options and what might be helpful for you or your family.

What if I can’t make it to my session?

L
K

We understand that life happens. If you need to reschedule or cancel, please let us know as soon as possible — ideally at least 24 hours before your appointment. This helps us offer that time to someone else who may be waiting.

For practitioners and services working with Aboriginal clients

Can I refer an Aboriginal client to your service?

L
K

Yes. We accept referrals from GPs, schools, child protection, legal services, support workers, and community organisations. You can refer using our online referral form or by contacting our team directly.

Do you offer culturally-informed assessments and reports?

L
K

Yes. We provide trauma-informed, culturally aware psychological assessments, including for ADHD, cognitive functioning, grief, and emotional wellbeing. Reports are written in accessible, respectful language and can be used for NDIS, school support, or legal settings.

What is the wait time for appointments?

L
K

Wait times can vary depending on location and client needs. We aim to prioritise high-risk or vulnerable clients, and we’ll always let you know timeframes upfront.

What regions do you cover?

L
K

We offer in-person services in Perth, Western Australia and national Telehealth services, with a focus on reaching regional and remote Aboriginal communities. If we can’t assist directly, we will try to help connect you with appropriate alternatives.

What makes your service culturally safe?

L
K

We are Aboriginal-led and grounded in community values. Our Indigenous psychologists have the lived experiences of many of our clients and are also registered psychologists. We understand the realities of identity struggles; culturally informed approaches; cultural load, intergenerational trauma, and the importance of connection to land, family, and identity. Healing is relational, and our care model reflects that.
