PRACTICE MANAGER – INDIGENOUS PSYCHOLOGY TREATMENT CENTRE

Location: Based in West Leederville

Position Type: Permanent Full Time

Salary: $119,089 – $124,065 per annum plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience. As a not-for-profit, salary packaging is available to boost your take-home pay.

 

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Practice Manager to lead the operations of our Indigenous Psychology Treatment Centre and support its growth. This pivotal role ensures seamless clinical service delivery, compliance with governance and funding requirements, and fosters a culturally safe, trauma-informed environment.

Working closely with leadership, the Practice Manager will:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations and service delivery across clinical and community programs.
  • Lead and support clinicians, cultural consultants, and administrative staff.
  • Manage scheduling, client coordination, and clinical systems.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical governance, accreditation, and risk management standards.
  • Drive strategic planning for service expansion, workforce development, and infrastructure growth.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, and multi-source funding management.
  • Promote culturally safe, ethical, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Build strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and partner organisations.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mental health service delivery, including at least 2 years in practice/clinic management or service coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, and accreditation standards, with a demonstrable commitment to quality and safety.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a culturally safe, trauma-informed environment; excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Deep commitment to Indigenous-led approaches and self-determination, with experience partnering with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Experience in service growth, workforce development, and reporting for multi-source funding (e.g., grants, contracts).

Highly Desirable

  • Experience in ACCHOs or Indigenous mental health settings.
  • Tertiary qualification (Bachelor or higher) in psychology, social work, occupational therapy, mental health nursing, or a closely related behavioural health and management discipline.
  • Experience with Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) mental health items, client management systems, and telehealth platforms.
  • Eligibility for, or current professional registration/membership: AHPRA registration for psychologists, occupational therapists, or nurses; or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) for social workers.
