This year we are excited to be offering two types of scholarships. We have introduced three high-risk community scholarships in Alice Springs and surrounding areas. This is consistent with the program’s ethos – to develop permanent skills capacity in our highest risk communities. Because locals never leave!

The jilya Scholarship
The scholarship provides eligible psychology students with $10,000 to help with study, living and transport costs, affording vital financial assistance at any stage of their undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. Students MUST be enrolled to study psychology
2. Students must be in enrolled in an Ahpra Approved Psychology Program with an Australian University.
3. Students must provide proof of enrolment
4. Students must provide academic transcripts as proof of good academic standing
5. The scholarship preferences those who have remote and rural connections and/or who wish to work in remote and rural locations upon graduation.
WHAT YOU DOCUMENTS DO YOU NEED TO APPLY?:
1. Proof of enrolment in an eligble psychology degree
2. Academic transcript (Not applicable to first year students)
3. Most recent Resume/Curriculum Vitae
4. Two reference letters, one academic, and one Aboriginal or cultural.
THE Community Scholarship
This year we will be offering three high-risk community scholarships to residents of Alice Springs and surrounding areas. The Community Scholarship is open to those looking either to study psychology or currently enrolled in a psychology pathway. We will support the successful recipients through bridging courses, graduate, undergraduate or postgraduate degrees, whatever is necessary for their individual pathway to achieve general registration as a psychologist. We recognise there are very different barriers to those living so remote, therefore this is set at $50,000 to help with study, living and transport costs.
ELIGIBILITY:
1. Students MUST enrol in a course that is part of the psychology pathway to general registration.
2. Students MUST enrol in an Ahpra Approved Psychology Program or an accredited bridging course with an Australian university.
3. Once enrolled, students must provide proof of enrolment.
4. Once enrolled, students must provide academic transcripts as proof of good academic standing.
5. You must be originally from Alice Springs or surrounding areas, and intend to reside and work in Alice Springs region beyond graduation.

2. Academic transcript (If enrolled in recognised psychology degree – Not applicable to first year students)
3. Most recent Resume/Curriculum Vitae.

5. Proof of residency in the Alice Springs region.
